She shuddered, as if a small electric charge had raced through her, and froze, mid-sentence. I smiled, pleased that my handiwork had taken the desired effect.
“My dear, I think you’ll find that’s the autopilot switch. Now, thanks to a few modifications, these various buttons and dials have the power to control not the plane, but you. And the thing about autopilot is, well, whilst the vessel is on automatic, a pilot still has to take control. Nudge her in the right direction, make sure she behaves, and follows the pilot’s suggestions.”
“Yes…” stunned, I could tell her brain was still racing, but it had long since surrendered control.
“Now, with autopilot engaged, I wonder what all these other buttons do, eh? Why don’t we find out….”
