If therapy was as affordable and available as medication, we would all be better off.
Imagine if education was affordable, and everyone who wanted to get a psych degree and start practicing could with no trouble. Imagine if every library had a staff therapist holding sessions in one of the quiet rooms, as a public good. Imagine if the knowledge and wisdom to cope with mental illness and heal was as readily available as library books (were when I was a kid).
Imagine if we spent as much money on having stuff worth taking as we spent on guns and tanks to keep people from taking our stuff from us.
