The office Christmas party was always a boring affair for the secretarial staff. Everyone at Lawrence, Lawrence and Boyce was at least twenty years older than them, and male. It was like hanging out with their parents. Most years the young women spent the evening fending off drunken advances.
This year instead of the usual karaoke and skits by the different divisions there was professional entertainment, a stage hypnotist. But even he had bored the secretaries. So much so that they had all fallen asleep watching his show.
After that the party livened up. Everyone agreed it was the best office Christmas party ever.
The weather is warming up, but it’s not too late for Christmas in May!
